More On Link Building

I’m no SEO specialists. Or maybe I am. Who’s REALLY a “specialist” in this area anyway? Isn’t it all speculation? Well, this post is pure speculation, this much I know. I thought I would share some interesting information on what I’ve been finding in my backlinks lately.

Building Links for Niche Site

So I’ve hit a new challenge which I’m not exactly sure how to go about. Normally I go to groups to find link exchanges (both page to page exchanges and “normal” link exchanges), but I really don’t want to do this with this site.

Soccer is running my life

Holy Cow! Not that I would EVER deny my children something such as soccer … but dang, I had no idea what I was getting into when I signed BOTH my children up to soccer! Seriously, it’s been running our lives for the past couple of weeks. If someone asks me to do something some evening, my instant reply is “Sorry we have soccer.” And 9 times out of 10, I’m right! LOL! And if I’m not, I don’t want to do anything anyhow because I look forward to the time at home! I remember getting my daughter’s schedule the other day and thinking wow, we have games almost every other day or so, then we’ll have practice in between … OMG I hadn’t gotten my son’s schedule yet!!! LOL! It’s absolutely crazy. I think all except for Friday nights I can count on something soccer related. They seem to have left Friday nights open for us.

Luckily, I do have hubby to help me … otherwise I’m not sure how I would have done it. If it hadn’t been for the insistent rain this evening, I would have been in one town with my daughter for her game and hubby would have been in another with my son and practice. We try really hard for the both of us to be at the games but it’s just not going to work out that way. We gave the kids a heads up that this was going to happen from time to time and they’re being very understanding (thank God! lol!)

:-O I now KNOW where the term Soccer Mom came from! :-O

Laziness Takes Planning and Effort

©Lisa Barker

Deciphering what I scrawled on a Tupperware lid for a container I
chucked in the freezer months ago is not one of my better skills. But I can
always use it to my advantage.

The other night I defrosted what I thought was beef stew and came to
discover later that it was this mysterious opaque liquid. It tasted like
a sweaty pig. Ah, ham stock! But I had no time left to make pea soup
for dinner.

First Day of School

It’s every work at home mom’s holiday - the first day of school! I’ve been waiting for this for weeks, like a kid at Christmas time. Sure we had a fun summer, but getting back to normal is oh-so-nice.

Layout of Niche Site

The other day I decided it was time for a niche site. While searching keywords, I came across a pretty good one. So I jumped in with both feet and bought the domain name. While this has been one busy week (and it’s not over yet!), I’m moving right along with it.

How To Determine The Future Vocation of Your Children

Have you ever wondered what your children will grow up to be?    Following is a list of possible vocations based on the behavior of children.

Child screams at top of lungs to get other children to play his way.
Occupational aptitude:  Drill sergeant or parent.  Take your pick.

Child scales all furniture stepping on anything to get to the top.

Soft Launch Under Way

Wow!  It sure is amazing what a couple of extra eyes can do for you.  Just when you think you have everything done and ready to go, you get bombarded with problems and ideas.  Well, I’ll be honest with you … problems … there weren’t many :D  It was just more of suggestions of ways things could be done and a couple of things that weren’t that big of a deal but were out of our control.

At this point though, we’ve all been super-busy so it’s been a slow go.  I have to get my Q & A session written for my SEO series for Smart Moms  (You will come listen won’t you??)  I also have a project that Kara and I are working on that has been put on the back burner for too long (sorry Kara!)  I just feel as though I can’t get ahead.  This being a soccer mom takes some skill and MAJOR time management, lol!  Anyway, Lauren and Val have had some other things that they need to get done too so it’s been a slow go for the past couple of days.  NOTE TO SELF:  Do NOT ever try to start a huge project over the summer in time to launch when school starts!!  Val’s also come up with some really cool extra features and I’ve been working on a few “extra touches” that will really make us stand out.  So, it’s going to be well-worth the wait!

Happy Birthday Kara!

Happy Birthday to You . . .
Happy Birthday to You . . .
Happy Birthday dear Kara . . .
Happy Birthday to You . . .

Trust me, just as I said in the card.  It really is much better for you to read it versus me singing it!

LOL!  Have a great one - you deserver it!
