50 Traffic Methods
I just found this post over at the Warrior Forum, and had to blog about it. It’s a huge list of 50 different ways to drive traffic to your site. It’s a really good list, and a lot of the things we talk about on a regular basis.

There’s only a handful I don’t agree with. One of them being “submit your site to search engines”. It’s not that I don’t agree with it, I just don’t think it should be part of your website promotion. The major search engines will crawl your site and add you to the index automatically if you have links in other places.
Another on the list I really don’t agree with is posting free classifieds. Granted it may be worth doing if you really don’t have anything else to do, but I just don’t see this as something you want to focus on. How many people actually read those classifieds?
The majority of this list though, I completely agree with and do on a regular basis. Some things I’ve done for a few sites, but not all of them. For example, the “thank you page” advertising. I’ve done it for Crafty Kids and Direct Sales Helpers, but not for Prairie Soy Candles. Link exchanges I’m pretty on top of, although the candle site needs some redesign work.
Product reviews was another on the list that I really should get back into. Not for my own promotion, but for others. Last time I tried, I was so overwhelmed that I just couldn’t keep up with it all. I eventually had to close it down because I was spending so much time on it with such little return. I’m thinking I might just start doing these again, but limit it to one a week.
