A Tale of 2 WAHMs

Sometimes I think I’m the queen of different. Or at least the queen of different ideas. No I’m not going to go off bragging, because that’s not my style. Although I had to make some comments today about my site, Crafty Kids Weekly.

I’m always looking for something different to do with my kids. No matter if it’s crafts, activities, or just spending time doing anything with them. It’s family time they are going to remember when they grow up.

Because I had so many ideas and wanted to report them all (yes I love to talk!), Idea Queen was created. This site may seem like “just another mom site”, and it probably is. Although several other niche sites have been spun off it. Crafty Kids Weekly was one of them.

It started out being a spin off of the craft section on Idea Queen. I wanted a newsletter that was going to feature craft ideas as well as craft kits. Knowing I was going to throw some general ideas for activities in once in awhile, I made sure I put that in the description.

But with summer on it’s way, I’ve noticed each week an activity seems to fit better. Plus of course, my 7 yr old son is getting too old to sit down and do crafts with us. Being active is more important. So of course the newsletter is starting to show this. It’s beginning to fit better with the activities section of Idea Queen.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing in the least. In fact, I rather like sharing ideas on what we do together. It makes the newsletter different from other craft sites you find. Who wants to sit all day just doing crafts? You want to get outside and do different things, right?

Besides, it’s the family time that matters most. I’m happy to give others ideas on how to spend that important quality time. Who knows, maybe this newsletter is making a difference.
