Encouraging More Comments
Most blog owners of course encourage commenting on their blogs. It’s the whole idea and what makes the blogging world go ’round. And we’re no different here!
We’ve always encouraged commenting – from day one. We usually try to implement what we can to help encourage even more.
For example:
We disabled the No Follow Tags back in Sept of 07 and joined the U Comment – I Follow Movement.
I try to have contests often and ask open ended questions, Twitter posts, yadda, yadda, yadda …
But, we’re still at it. This I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time but it was just one of those not-really-important-but-you’d-love-to-do-it-and-it-keeps-getting-pushed-farther-back kind of things. I’m sure you know what I mean. (lol)
Guess what? It just so happened to be another one of those little things that are starting to make me LOVE outsourcing! My precious VA and I are proud to introduce – Comment Luv at 2 Wahms!!
That’s right! Leave a comment and we’ll include a link back to your most recent blog post. (Providing you include your blog where it asks for it in the comments section of course.)
Here’s how Comment Luv works:
“CommentLuv enables you to reward your blog readers by leaving a titled link to their last post automatically whenever they comment thus encouraging more comments by more people on more posts!”
So give it a try! Leave a comment and let us know what you think! Maybe I’ll have to swing by your blog too!
Your fellow WAHM in success,
Anita

I encourage comments on my blog by asking a question or asking for input on almost every blog post. I also use one of the comment friendly plugins (not sure which one though cuz I’m no techie as you know LOL).

That is so odd that it only shows my post from Monday. I have had a few since then so I don’t think the comment thingy is working, just wanted to let you know. Thanks!

Been using comment luv forever. I enjoy it personally because I’m able to see the last blog post that my commenters have. It encourages me to pop over and take a peak.

Nell – it was your blog that reminded me that I wanted to use it! LOL!
Angie – Oh honey, trust me, I’m so not techy either! Not in the least!
Encouraging comments is so very important for blogs but wow – sometimes it’s so much like pulling teeth to get some commenting!
You start thinking maybe no one is reading. Then you here from people who say they love your blog, read it often, yadda, yadda.
Anyway, not sure why it picked up on an older post. I would imagine it could be one of many reasons why it picked up an older post, even a glitch for that matter. But, the fact that it did pick up a comment leads me to believe that it’s still working. Just picked the wrong post, ya know?
Thanks for commenting ladies!

I have seen this at work on other blogs, I have looked at it a bit and considered using it on one or two of my blogs that would be beneficial for the commenter. The more I see it the more I like it.
