SAHM’s worth $138,095 a year
According to Salary.com, that’s what an average Stay at Home Mom is worth . . . and that’s with a 3% raise from last year. The average SAHM puts in 40 hours (regular time) and 52 hours (overtime) – averaging a whopping 92 hour work week. The jobs figured into this scenario include a housekeeper, cook, day care center teacher, laundry machine operator, van driver facilities manager, janitor, computer operator, chief executive officer and psychologist. What about nurse? LOL! (And I’m sure there are more that aren’t hitting me right now.) You know, if I was making that kind of money, I wouldn’t be doing all those jobs! I would be doing some major outsourcing. I’d have the best paid housekeeper around! LOL!
So anyway, this is what a Stay at Home Mom is worth, right? I wonder what a Work at Home Mom is worth?? Not that we’re necessarily worth more . . . I mean as we all know, being a mom is the hardest job on the planet! But, just think of all those hats that are added to the work at home mom. Advertising manager, campaign manager, CEO, secretary, designer, human resources, accountant, customer service . . . this list could go on and on depending on what you do! Maybe we should have Salary.com figure out what the average WAHM is worth!
Anyway, I thought this was a very interesting story and thought it’d be a great discussion topic for here on the blog. Click here to read the whole story . . . and then come back to share your thoughts!
Your fellow WAHM in success,
Anita

Well, I can officially add etomologist to that list! LOL! Last evening we were in the garden “cleaning up” from last year. My son kept rolling all the big rocks over to see what kind of bugs were under there. Every other rock he’s yelling, hey mom, come see this … what is it? Son, I have no clue! It’s a bug! LOL!
