You seemed to have missed the big picture on the internet right now and that is social net working is exploding
I am a member of a new site which will compete with face book and twitter. I see now face book wants to charge. It may be its downfall as a leader.

Great post, directories are a pretty good way to gain some backlinks and get free advertising.
