What’s Holding You Back?
I got to thinking. I’m not exactly where I want to be with online business. I could be doing much better, and HAVE done much better in the past. Looking back at the past few years, I know what’s been holding me back.
That one thing is focus. I get excited about projects, but never seem to “finish” them. Granted I’m one that is always looking for the “set and forget” formula, because I know it’s out there. Or at the very least something to set and forget for at least a little while. Something that fits my style - bouncing from project to project.
What I’ve found though is I seem to lack focus for long periods of time. Heck I can barely work on one section of one site for more than a day. I get bored. Very, very easy. It’s my weakness. A few years ago when I was very successful with affiliate marketing, I was also very focused. Sure it was boring, but I got the job done. It was a pretty easy job though, the proved to be a little TOO easy. It was only temporary.
I feel like we are always learning regardless. Some may be learning new business “tricks” while I myself am learning to focus. I’m learning to plan and stick to that plan. Whenever I do, the results are fantastic. I guess what’s holding me back now is learning how to plan on a regular basis. If the goals are too far ahead, I lose interest or go in a different direction. If they are too short, I breeze through and kinda sit idle again.
After looking at where I’m at currently, I decided I needed a plan. Something easy to stick to and long term, but not too long. What I came up with I’m pretty proud of, and have stuck to it for over 2 weeks now. It’s all focused on Idea Queen - adding new pages and tweeking old. So far it’s not looking bad. Part of it was adding posts daily like I have been for the last few months. Another part was putting in some affiliate focused pages, which I’m happy to say I’m DONE with. Hurray! That’s one of the short term goals finished, and just in time too. See, in addition to my long term income goals, I’ve also set short term goals for when I need to have certain things done. Three benchmarks to be exact, with the first one ending today. The next one will be in 2 weeks, and I’m already slightly ahead of the game.
So what is holding you back in your business? If you aren’t making what you want to be making, what’s the reason?

ROFL! Okay, anyone who would leave a comment like this … it’s more than obvious that they don’t read our blog. Not to mention it’s right in our header at the top of EVERY page.

Hmm … wonder what that means?
Yeah, we’ve gotten a lot more strict about the comments we approve here. First of all, if it’s nothing but spam, it’s getting deleted. If it’s “iffy” then it might get approved but you can be sure the link is getting deleted.
Unfortunately, the people who are doing these things aren’t reading comments like this anyway, so I’m probably wasting my breath, lol!
Anyway, I had to let this one slide through (without the link) just to prove a point and I figured everyone would get a kick out of it!
