School Lunch Ideas
It’s that time of year again - back to school means back to coming up with healthy school lunch ideas. While school lunches seem to be getting better (at least in my neck of the woods), there’s still those days where we just know they won’t even touch it.
Now the easiest school lunch ideas are usually things like PB&J or just regular sandwiches. Which is usually what we do when there’s little time to pack a lunch. Leftover tend to come in handy too, if they don’t need to be heated up. But if your kid is constantly taking lunch too school, the “normal” stuff can get old very fast.
I’m lucky enough to have a kid that absolutely LOVES bread…..and I have a bread machine :D. I have tons of bread machine recipes I use all the time. Right now the kids are seriously addicted to cinnamon rolls, although it’s not exactly all that “healthy” because of all the sugar. Regular dinner rolls made in the bread machine they love too, so I DO make those quite often.
I asked for school lunch ideas on a few groups last year, and got some excellent ideas. Everything from different ways to cut bread to make it seem more interesting, to foods I had never even thought of. They were inexpensive ideas too, that didn’t require buying packs of chips or those yucky lunchables (which by the way, my kids won’t even touch them! They beg me to buy them on occasion, but never actually EAT what’s inside….proving it’s all about the packaging).
The ideas ranged from ways to present the meals, to how to involve the kids so they’ll be more likely to eat what’s packed, and other fun school lunch ideas.
All the ideas (both mine and those submitted) can be found at: Healthy School Lunch Ideas.

Thanks for the ideas! I can’t believe it’s almost time for packing lunches again. Our Summer has been so icky that it doesn’t seem like we’ve had one yet.

Oh summer has been over here for a week now - we went back on the 20th! Yes, summer really did fly by, but we were very busy.
