A Tale of 2 WAHMs

The other day I decided it was time for a niche site. While searching keywords, I came across a pretty good one. So I jumped in with both feet and bought the domain name. While this has been one busy week (and it’s not over yet!), I’m moving right along with it.

Knowing the search engines like good quality content, this has to be my main focus. Luckily the niche I picked is pretty easy for me to write on. Although the purpose of ANY site is to make money, right?

What I’ve done is made the site basically an “info” site. I have my affiliate products in the navigation and Adsense weaved in the content, but for the most part it’s “information”.  All the keyword phrases related to information are used on the main part.

Luckily for me, there are just as many “shopping” keywords are there are information. Meaning the phrases are for things like “merchandise”, or “toys” related to my niche. Unfortunately search engines don’t much care for pages splattered with affiliate links……..unless, perhaps, if they are on a blog.

Yup that’s what I did….I made the “merchandise” link a blog. The categories are the break-down of different types of merchandise. Such as clothes, toys, furniture, etc. Will this make a difference in the way Google and others see my “affiliate pages”? I sure hope so. I’m making a point to add my own content and not just general descriptions given by the companies, but I hope it’s enough.
