I love SEO

So maybe that’s not a secret how much I love SEO. I talk about it all the time, and I’m damn good at it too. I think what I like the most is it gives me the opportunity to complete disappear for weeks on end, and still be “working”.

What brought this up was me thinking about the progress I’ve made on Idea Queen in the past few years. When I started the site, it was a “side project” and a place for me to throw up all my ideas. I left it alone for about a year, and it sat quietly pulling in maybe 20-40 visitors a day. Bleh. It paid for itself, so I didn’t mess with it for awhile.

When I came back to the site while taking Cricket’s SEO class, I decided it could do much better. It was ’set up’ for search engines, and had some major possibilities. I dug in for a month or two, completely revamping every single page on the site. I used those tid bits of info I learned from Cricket’s class that I didn’t know before. Who knew I would have learned something new? I had been involved in SEO for several years before that class! Wow what a difference they made though.

It was last year I let the site just sit there again, and wouldn’t you know it’s now a quiet money maker now. Where it use to be 40 visitors max a day, there’s now at least 500 visitors a day. While I was there I also improved it’s income possibility, so it’s also making more per visitor.

Success from sites like those remind me of how much I really do love SEO. I’m in full swing again, focusing my attention on what I do best. I started a new section of pure content on the candle site with the main purpose of pulling in more visitors from search engines. I can’t wait to see where one of the new pages is ranked, because I just know it will be good. Especially because I found the main page of the site on the third page for this term, and it not even CLOSE to optimized for that term.

So if you don’t see me lurking for awhile, you’ll know where I’ve gone. Well that and next week is our last week of summer, and we’ve got stuff planned almost every single day. The little time I will be here, I’ll most likely be hiding and working on pages. I shouldn’t say I can totally hide when doing SEO though…… I have to pop up for link exchanges! *grin*

Increasing in Him,
Kara
